Enable everyone to be creative in their everyday lives

Provide affordable spaces in every neighbourhood that can be used by a wide range of groups to set up and run/ practive their own creativity, from knitting to choirs to breakdancing ... support with publcity, admin, lessons, networking and micro funding where needed. See: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/Cultural/culturalenquiries/Towards-cultural-democracy/Towards-Cultural-Democracy-2017-KCL.pdf  and http://64millionartists.com/about/

Why the contribution is important

As well as the great, high-profile cultural places in Camden that 'deliver' culture and arts to people (and some that set up groups so people can get involved), being able to be creative yourself every day has as great an impact on health and wellbeing - and community, self esteem, fun etc - as doing exercise everyday. Camden could help this activity thrive with very small grants to small, self-running groups; and low-level admin and skills support.

This is a desirable aim. I am aware that the high price of renting space for such activities is causing some to close and others to raise fees to a level which people on benefits or low pay could not afford. Lack of funds is an obvious problem but would it not be possible to arrange better use of existing spaces. Most churches, for instance, are not used to capacity and could host some kinds of activity. The council could perhaps help with advice and information.
