Encourage walking, cycling and use of public transport

I suggest investing in making Camden more pedestrian and cycle friendly and taking measures to cut car ownership in the borough, such as a Council Tax premium for car owners. The extra income from this could be ringfenced for investment in cycle lanes and public transport infrastructure. I also think the whole area from the Underground Station to Chalk Farm should be pedestrianised.

Why the contribution is important

It would dramatically reduce traffic and air pollution, thus improving quality of life for residents and the experience of visitors. This in turn would increase footfall in the area, benefitting local businesses.
