Repairs

When Camden consider upgrading houses that when things go wrong that you have a central person on the council that you can contact direct.

I had work done by lakehouse about 5 years ago who were so unprofessional.  To top it all off this year i was contacted this year as I the council needed to do a survey again.  Of course I agreed but said it was a waste of time and money.  However, I found out that when Lakehouse completed the works they never gave any records to the council so the council didn't know what flats work had been done in.

Also all flats were left with like IPads and to this day they have never worked.

Why the contribution is important

As Camden need to reduce the amount of money they waste through bad planning.

    1. A pool of well audited service providers who are accountable for their quality of service to Camden Council
    2. Broad idea needs to be thought through..... Group Insurance paid for by council out of council charges to provide free repairs/maintenance of general services (excluding major renovations) like plumbing, wood work , nursing , cleaning (once off or regular), gardening with a cap on per time cost of Pounds 200. costs above the 200 be paid by resident of Camden

Property manages charge an arm and a leg for maintenance of flats houses specially for non resident land lords... suggest a maintenance pool be organised by council charging a flat fee per bed room accommodation of a reasonable charge which would then provide maintence services at a small flat charge per bedroom accommodation (or per xyz sq foot of flat/house). this can be supported by group insurance to cover the council of any sudden high repair costs

The Camden repairs system, for tenants and leaseholders, is a shambles. We are treated with discourtesy and disdain. I have several reported communal repairs, reported to help everyone. We are ignored. There is a culture within Camden “ignore them and they will go away”. Shame! I will not be going away!
