Require developers to include amenities and services

Much of the opposition to large developments, like the one behind Morrisons, comes from well founded fears of the strain they will place on local amenities and services (schools, doctors' surgeries, playgrounds and parks, after school clubs).

Surely the developers of these big housing projects should be obliged to build, and support the maintenance of, these facilities which their occupants will require? Otherwise the rest of us in Camden are subsidising their profits.

Why the contribution is important

Everybody knows we need more housing - especially genuinely affordable housing. But housing alone doesn't make or sustain a community.
